Email Support
Below is information on how to configure your email account in
popular email programs.
Email Setup Support:
Microsoft Outlook 2000/Outlook Express
1) Open your email program
2) Goto TOOLS | ACCOUNTS
3) Click on ADD | MAIL
4) In Display Name, type whatever you want. (This is the name that
appears in the FROM box when you send an email to someone.) Click
"Next"
5) enter your E-mail address: e.g. you@yourdomain.com then Click
"Next"
6) You will see the line: My incoming mail server is a "POP3". you do
not need to change anything on this line.
7) Enter the Incoming Mail (POP3 or IMAP) server as supplied to you by
Us in the format: mail.yourdomain.com
8) Enter the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) server: as supplied to you by your
ISP (internet service provider) OR mail.yourdomain.com*
9) Click Next
10) enter you POP account name: [this is your email address],
Password: [the password you created in the admin area] then
Click "Next".
11) Click "Finish"
12) Now You need to go back into the Properties by going to TOOLS |
ACCOUNTS, select the account you want to edit if you have more than
one then click PROPERTIES.
13) Click the SERVERS tab and under the section that says outgoing
mail server, you need to check off the option that says "my server
requires authentication"
14) Now click the ADVANCED Tab and change the SMTP (outgoing port) to

15) Click OK, then Close
16) If using Microsoft Outlook, Close and restart the program.
Outlook 2007
1) Open Outlook
2) Goto TOOLS | ACCOUNT SETTINGS, click on NEW... and then
click next from the first prompt
3) Check off Manually configure Server Settings at the bottom of the
next window and click next.
4) Select Internet E-mail then click next (it's the default option)
5) Now Fill in the following fields:
- your Name (i.e. John Doe),
- Email Address (i.e.
you@yourdomain.com)
- Account Type is POP3 (the default setting)
- Incoming Mail (POP3 or IMAP) server is mail.yourdomain.com
(replace yourdomain.com with you actual domain name)
- , and your email Password that you created in
the cpanel.
- Enter the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) server: as supplied to you by your
ISP (internet service provider) OR use mail.yourdomain.com
- Enter your username ( this is your FULL email address)
- Enter your password that you created in the cpanel
6) Now click MORE SETTINGS....
7) click on the OUTGOING SERVER tab and check off the option My
Outgoing Server (SMTP) Requires Authentication
8) Click the ADVANCED TAB and change the Outgoing Port (SMTP) to 26
9) Now click OK, NEXT, then FINISH
10) close the program and then re-open it and you should be all set.
Outlook 2002/XP
1) Open Outlook
2) Goto Tools | Email Accounts, click on Add a new e-mail account,
then click Next
3) Select POP3 for the Server Type, and click Next
4) Enter your Name (i.e. John Doe), Email Address (i.e.
you@yourdomain.com), and your User Name [this is your email address]
and Password.
5) Enter the Incoming Mail (POP3 or IMAP) server as supplied to you by
Us in the format: mail.yourdomain.com Or mail.EthicalHost.ca*
6) Enter the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) server: as supplied to you by your
ISP (internet service provider) OR mail.EthicalHost.ca
7) Click Next and then Finish and then Restart Outlook
*
Please note if you use
mail.EthicalHost.ca as your SMTP server, you MAY need to change the
SMTP (outgoing server) Port from 25 to 26. This is usally found in the
advanced settings of your account properties in your email
program. This is because most ISP's now try and block you from using
outside SMTP servers.
