Ethical Host, http://www.ethicalhost.ca/, has signed an agreement with the Pembina Institute to purchase wind power certificates in order to offset its electricity usage from its computers, servers and server equipment.

Ethical Host says that by purchasing green certificates, it can offset the greenhouse gases produced by its electricity use by purchasing renewable wind power elsewhere on the grid in Canada. This, it says, helps to reduce dependence on non-renewable energy sources.
“We are pleased to be partnering with the leading provider of sustainable energy development in Canada,” says John MacKenzie, Ethical Host’s President. “These renewable energy certificates help us expand our commitment to the environment.”

To help minimize energy consumption, Ethical Host uses energy star appliances, CFL light bulbs and other energy efficient equipment in our office. We also walk, bike and use public transit as much as we can.
